The blaze broke out at a home on 27 Side Road east of Trafalgar Road before 5 p.m. Fire crews arrived to find heavy smoke and flames in the garage and at least one vehicle was on fire. The garage later col- lapsed. Halton Hills Fire deputy chief Bryce Marshall said the blaze then spread into the home through a mezza- nine. Two people associated to the home, along with an injured firefighter, were sent to hospital by Halton Region Paramedics, ac- cording to an emergency responder on scene. Firefighters remained at the home late into the evening to monitor the scene and extinguish hot spots. At press time, the cause of the blaze was still under investigation. Damage costs have been estimated at $1 million.
