- "On November 16 the Province of Ontario moved Halton Region into the Red Zone to help control the spread of COVID-19. With only a few days to adjust, we were required to reduce our volunteer count from 100 to 25 people. This has a big impact on the Georgetown Santa Claus Parade scheduled for tomorrow.
The Georgetown Lions Club is very aware of the support and enthusiasm for our parade, especially this year. At an emergency meeting it was decided that the “Show Must Go On”! However we are required to eliminate some of our planned features.
Most features still remain: Santa Claus will be there in his sleigh, You can bring your letters to Santa Claus, Party Cinemas will be broadcasting in the park, A small gift will be handed out from our sponsors, You can still bring a food, toy or cash donation, Volunteers will be on hand to guide you safely through the park in the comfort of your car.
The Georgetown Santa Claus Parade is run by volunteers with the Georgetown Lions Club and others in our community. The format for this years parade is brand new to the organizers, even before these last minute changes. We ask that our guests be patient with volunteers, and we will do our best to maximize fun and safety for all!"
