- Death of John Ahern.
The death of John Ahern, who was for many years a well-known citizen of Acton, took place at his home at 476 Manning Ave., Toronto, last Wednesday, 7th inst. Mr. Ahern came to Acton when a young man back in the fifties, and was Agent of the G.T.R. here in the early days of the road. After being with the G.T.R. for nearly twenty years he leased the Clark House and conducted that hotel for a number of years. He was afterward in the grocery business in the store opposite the Dominion Hotel. Some thirteen years ago the family removed to Toronto. Misses Suoy, Emma, Kittle and Josephine mourn the loss of a father whom they greatly beloved. The remains were tenderly laid at rest in St. Michael's Cemetery on Friday last. - Media Type
