An Old Pensioner Gone.
On Saturday morning last some of the residents of Erin were startled by hearing the report that Mr. Wm. Cripps, well known in this neighborhood, had suddenly died during the previous night. It appears that he went to bed Friday evening as well as usual, but when his wife tried to wake him in the morning she found him dead. The day previous he had been chopping wood, but had not complained of feeling sick. Mr. Cripps was an old pensioner, having served in the war of 1812. He came to Erin about seven years ago, where he has lived ever since, and has won the respect of all his neighbors.
