Three Georgetown Impact girls' volleyball club teams played in Bugarski Cup zone tournaments recently in preparation for the upcoming provincial championships and the under-15 `Black' squad was victorious in Barrie. The Impact dropped its first game of the day to London's Forest City before coming back to win the match, then clinched first in their pool by sweeping away the host Barrie Elites and the Durham Regional Volleyball Club. In the playoffs, Impact Black rolled through the Northumberland Breakers and the Durham Attack, setting up a rematch with DRVC in the semifinals, in which Georgetown won 25-19, 25-15. The Halton Hurricanes provided the opposition for the championship, with the Impact prevailing 25-19, 2325, 15-13, earning a berth in the Ontario Volleyball Association Tier I championships April 14-15 in Windsor. Playing in an under-15 division to tune up for provincials, the under-14 Red Impact earned silver medals at a zone tourney in Collingwood, edged out by Midland's Georgian Bay Vistas 22-25, 25-15, 15-10.
