The Halton Physician Recruitment Initiative recently welcomed Dr. Wafik Abdel Malek to Halton Hills. Dr. Abdel Malek has joined Dr. Seegobin's office on Sinclair Avenue in Georgetown, where he is welcoming new patients. Dr. Abdel Malek recently completed his family medicine residency training through the University of Toronto. He previously practised for 15 years as a family physician in Egypt. He can be contacted at his office at 905877-9998, located at 99 Sinclair Avenue, Suite 202, Georgetown. "Even though the Halton Physician Recruitment Initiative has attracted more than 60 doctors to Halton since 2002, there is still more work to do," said Halton Regional Chair Gary Carr. "Halton's population is expected to increase and we will continue our efforts to ensure our residents have access to quality medical care as our communities grow". "We are very pleased to welcome Dr. Abdel Malek," said Halton Hills Mayor Rick Bonnette. "Halton Region and the Halton Hills Physician Recruitment Committee will continue to work together to attract muchneeded qualified family physicians like Dr. Abdel Malek to the town. Dr. Abdel Malek will be a great addition to our community." Dr. Abdel Malek learned of opportunities for physicians through Halton's Physician Recruitment Initiative. The Initiative is a collaborative effort between Halton Region and representatives from the local municipalities of Burlington, Halton Hills, Milton and Oakville, local physicians and senior area hospital staff.
