The new Neighbours store in Georgetown south was officially opened Friday as hundreds flocked to the Mountainview Road South location to have a look at the newest convenience store attached to Petro Canada gas bars across the country. As part of the opening, Neighbours donated $1,000 to minor hockey in Georgetown, with $500 to the Twister girls' league and $500 to the Raiders boys' league. Accepting for the Twisters were (in front) team members (from left) Samantha Lawr, 10 and Rachel Bridges, 9. In back, Ward 4 Councillor John Duncan, Neighbours retailer Yasir Suliman and Ward 3/4 Regional Councillor Jane Fogal. This Neighbours is the eighth outlet opened in Canada, and the sixth in the GTA. One can purchase breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as an assortment of hot and cold drinks. Their signature item is their panini sandwich.
