Be sure to be wear'n your green when you come to the St. Patrick's Day luncheon on Tuesday, March 14. I wonder if we will have Irish Stew? Have you ever found yourself in need of baby gift? You should try the craft table at the Centre. It has beautiful baby sweaters, bonnets, booties, blankets and shawls. I bet if you can't find it there I'm sure one of the knitters would knit you up something to your liking. All of the profits go to the Centre. Grant just told me about a trip to The Shaw Festival in Niagara-onthe-Lake on June 6th. I realize that it seems a long way away but these trips get filled up in a hurry. Don't be left out of this one. See Grant at the Travel Desk for more details and to sign up. Have you purchased your ticket for the fundraising dinner on Saturday, March 25? For a ticket of $18 you get a wonderful hot roast beef dinner. Draws, door prizes and entertainment are included. Maybe they will throw in some dancing to wear off all the food. Come out and support your Centre. Financially we can only survive with memberships and fundraisers. The Ontario Senior Games are fast approaching. You can enter bid euchre, 5-pin bowling, carpet bowling, cribbage, and euchre. You must register for any or all events at the Georgetown Seniors Centre March 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. If you need more information about the Winter or Summer Games please call Lorne Hammond at 905-877-8109 or the Centre at 905-877-8444. There is also more information in your copy of The Hilltops. Please give some consideration to taking part in the upcoming Senior Drive Refresher Course. Upon completion of this course, you should be able to correct the bad habits we all have developed over time and have a better understanding of road and driving laws and the importance of being s defensive driver. This course is given in two sessions of three hours each. Session 1 will be given on Friday, April 21 and 28. Session 2 will be held Friday. May 5 and 12. There is a cost of $72 per person. You will need to register and pay at the Centre. Let me close with a bit of St. Patrick's Day humour. "Gallagher opened the morning newspaper and was dumfounded to read in the obituary column that he had died. He quickly phoned his best friend Finney. "Did you see the paper?" asked Gallagher. "They say I died!" "Yes I saw it!" replied Finney. "Where are you callin' from?" Come out to the Georgetown Seniors Centre. Get involved! Make new friends! Share in the good times!
