           WILLIAMS, Harry -- On Wednesday, January 26, 2000, after a brief illness in Peterborough, aged 81. Dear husband of the late Claire Elliott. Dear father of Jill of Millbrook, Ontario and step-father of Joanne Davidson of Montreal. Son of the late Reginaldand Marjorie Williams. Brother of Trevor of Georgetown and Margot Murray of Glen Williams. Predeceased by his brother Jim and his sister Gwynneth Knox. Harry was born in South Wales and grew up in Glen Williams. He graduated from Georgetown High School with a scholorship to the University of Toronto where he began his biology studies. During the war he joined the RCAF and taught navagation in Canada and served overseas. Upon graduation from U of T, he taught science at Millbrook High School for over thirty years. This allowed him to spend every summer in various parts of the Canadian wilderness studying and collecting plant specimens for distribution to university herbivenia. He became an international authority on Moss and for his work in biology was awarded an honorary doctorate degree from Trent University in 1979. Upon his retirement he continued his extensive botanical work. A memorial service will be held in Millbrook at a later date.
           
           For the journey is done and the summitt attained.
