SANBORN, G. Fred -- A resident of Chatham, Ontario and formerly of East Farnham, Quebec died at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Public General Campus on Friday, October 9, 1998 in his 91st year. Born in Barrie, Vermont, son of the late George and Leslie (Armstrong) Sanborn. Mr. Sanborn lived most of his life in East Farnham, Quebec. He retired in 1947 from the Canadian Armed Forces and was the manager of Footwear Findings until his retirement. He was a former member of East Farnham Village Council. He was a life member and past master of Corner Stone Masonic Lodge #37 AF & Am Cowansville, Quebec. He also served as the lodge Secretary for many years. Beloved husband of Winifred (Hollingworth) Sanborn. Dear father of Diane Hadlock and her husband Austin of Chatham and Joan Hyde and husband Bill of Georgetown. Grandfather of Kevin Hadlock and his wife Mary of Ridgetown and Scott Hadlock and his wife Heather of Wallaceburg. Great-grandfather of Elizabeth Anne Hadlock. Brother of Dorothy Dryden of Cowansville, Quebec. The Sanborn Family received friends at the McKenlay Funeral Home, Chatham, Ontario on Saturday, October 10, 1998. The funeral service followed at the Funeral Home with Rev. Margaret Moniyama of St. Paul's Congregational Church, Chatham officiating. Interment Service for the cremation remains will be on Saturday, October 17, 1998 at 1:30 p.m. in Knowlton Cemetery, Koowlton, Quebec with Rev. David Spivey of Emmanuel United Church, Cowansville officiating.
