Life member W.I. Laura Brownridge dies.

A resident of the Ashgrove district for 34 years, Laura Brownridge, 77 dies in St. Michael's Hospital, Toronto on Feb. 7 after an illness of three months.

The former Laura Eveline Miller, she was born at Silvercreek daughter of the late James and Sarah Price Miller, and attended the Old Stone school. She married Thomas J. Brownridge on June 1st 1940. Mrs. Brownridge was a member of Hillcrest United Church, a life member of Ashgrove Women's Institute, a director of the Georgetwon Agricultural Scoiety and a member of the Milton Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her husband T.J Brownridge, son Allen, step-children Ward and Doris (Mrs. John McNabb), brothers Robert and Stewart Miller and seven grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Bernard. Rev. John Griffen conducted the funeral services from Hillcrest United Church on Monday, Feb. 10 with interment in Greenwood Cementery, Georgetown. An Eastern Star service was held the previous evening. Pallbearers were Wilfred Harding, Jim Fisher, Jim Cunningham, Fred Nurse, Claude Picket and Frank Rudell. Flowers were carried by George Brownridge, Murrary Brownridge, Ken McNabb, John Brown, Cliff Wrigglesworth and Edward Brigden.
