Hall - Moncton wed in St. John's Church

St. John's United Church, Georgetown was the scene of the marriage of Patricia Lynn Monckton to James Smyth Hall, 48 Queen St., Georgetown, on August 17 at 4 p.m.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.G. Monckton of 12 Valleyview Rd., Georgetown, while the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. S.C. Hall of Baysville, Ontario.

Rev. Harold Martin officiated at the double-ring ceremony, with Larry Thompson as the organist. Donna and Colleen Burns sang the Wedding Song and Fill my Senses.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of peau de soie with lace applique and a full train. She had a shoulder length veil and carried white orchids and stephanotis with ivy.

The bridesmaids were attired in full-length dresses of white polyester cotton over yellow arnel with halter tops and short jackets. They carried golden garnet sweetheart roses and stephanotis.

The flower girl was dressed the same as the bridesmaids. Mrs. Monckton wore pale blue chiffon with a white cymbidium orchid corsage. Mrs. Hall's dress was rosewood crepe with a pink elegance roses as a corsage.

Linda Oprica of Kitchener was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Penny Monckton, sister-in-law of the bride from Georgetown, Pauline Hall, sister-in-law of the groom from St. Catharines, and Kris Williamson, friend of the bride from Matane, Quebec. Tina Oprica of Georgetown was the flower girl.

Bryan Reynolds of Georgetown was the groom's best man. William Hall, brother of the groom from St. Catharines was an usher along with the brother of the bride, Robert Monckton and a friend of the groom, James Henderson, both of Georgetown.

Following the ceremonies there was a reception and dance at the Old Mill in Toronto. Dr. J.H. Chamberlain was toastmaster.

The bride wore a suit of salmon shade of linen with white accessories as the couple left for their honeymoon trip to Ottawa and the Quebec Laurentians.

The newlyweds will reside in Kitchener, Ontario where the bride is attending Waterloo University. The groom is a teacher at Centennial School.
