Wedding in Milton
Carla Allen and Jack Fletcher were married July 27 at Knox Presbyterian church, Milton, in a double ring afternoon ceremony performed by the Rev. John Murray.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Allen, 72 River Dr., Georgetown. The groom, a co-ordinator at Orenda, Malton, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Fletcher, 165 Bell St., Milton.
Dinner and dance at Milton Legion hall followed the ceremony.
The bride wore chiffon and lace with long chapel train and carried red roses. She wore old rings of the groom's mother and opal earrings, gift of the groom.
Matron of honor was Heather Denomme, sister of the bride, and bridesmaids were Brenda Storch, the bride's niece, and Kathy Allen, sister of the bride.
Heather wore pink swiss organdy, Brenda yellow and Kathy mauve. They carried daisies and carnations tinted to match their dresses.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. Groomsman was Trevor Houston and ushers Barry Fletcher, brother of the groom and Harry Allen, brother of the bride. They wore powder blue tuxedos and navy pants.
Toasts wre made by M.C. Stan Allen, the groom and best man.
Wedding cake was made by a friend Mrs. Ross.
Honored guests included Mrs. Hazel Mountain, Grandmother of the bride, and Mrs. Irene Hayter, great-aunt of the groom.
The bride's mother received in blue floral sheer with pink roses and the groom's mother in peach with bronze roses.
Guests were entertained at the reception by singer Irene Burnke, who sang her version of Goodnight Irene.
The couple took a two-week trip to Florida and are living in Cooksville.
A miscellaneous shower was given by heather Denomme for her sister. A stag was held by Trevor Houston.
