The marriage of Barbara Jean Brownridge and John Robert Ervin took place July 13 at 3:30 p.m. at Hillcrest United Church. The double ring ceremony was conducted by Rev. Lynn Curtin with Bernard Shrubsole at the organ. Marilyn Smith was soloist.
Barbara is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ward Brownridge of R.R.2, Georgetown. She works as a secretary for the Halton Board of Education.
John is the son of Mrs. Ronald C. Ervin and the late Mr. Ervin of 263 Ontario St., Apt. 504, Milton. He is employed with the Building Systems Division of Polysar Corporation Ltd. John and Barbara both attended Milton District High School.
Maid of honor was Sandra Foster. Bridesmaids were Darlene Kennedy, Barbara LeRiche and Dianne Whaley.
Best man was Neil Gibbons. Ushers were Murray Brownridge, James Ervin and David Kennedy.
Following the ceremony a dinner was held at Hillcrest Church. In the evening a dance at Boyne Community Centre was attended by 115 persons.
Mr. and Mrs. Ervin travelled to The Laurentians in Quebec and upon their return took up residence at 19-B Third Sideroad. Milton. Out-of-town guests included the bride's grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Ruddell and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Brownridge of Georetown. Guest also attended from New York, Montreal, Milton, Hamilton, Toronto, Kitchener, Guelph, Oakville, Kingston, Dundalk and Walkerton.
Showers were given by Mrs. Stan Eyre, Norval; Mrs. Craig Reid, Georgetown; Mrs. Elwood Gullis, Milton; Sandra Foster, Milton Heights; and a community shower at Hillcrest Church. Presentations were made to the bride and groom by their fellow workers.
