OBITUARY
ROBERT BILTON
Although in his eighty-third year Robert Bilton, of the first line, Esquesing, practically died in harness. He was an active man and was ........ aside from his customary farm work until a few days before his death, which occurred last Thursday. Mr. Bilton was for over sixty years a resident of this vicinity. He was born in .....mborough, Yorkshire, England, in September, 1836. He came to Canada in 1857 and settled at Crewsons Corners. In 1871 he married the daughter of the late John Bennett. Nine children blessed the home. Of these Hat.... died in infancy, Mrs. James Dunbar in 1901, and Mrs. Hodgin Barnes in 1906. The surviving members of the family are Mrs. Bilton, Mrs. William Beavers, Acton, Charlotte, at ...alton, Lillie at home, Robert, Acton, and George and John at home. There are two grandsons, Pte. Robert Dunbar, overseas, and Melvin Dunbar at home. Mr. Bilton was a friendly man and was highly esteemed. He was a member of the Methodist Church at Crewsons Corners. The funeral on Monday was largely attended. The service was conducted by Rev. Mr. .... Large. The pall bearers were Messrs. William Mullin, Thomas Elliott, Robt. Campbell, Edward Cleave, John McNab and Duncan Robertson.
