The death of Rev. W. J. Piggott, M.A., took place on the 25th February, at Rochester, N.Y., where he had resided since his superannuation as a Church of England clergyman. Rev. Mr. Piggott was born at Ranby, Nottingham, England, in 1834. He was ordained in 1865, and received the status of a priest of the Church of England in 1867. After spending some time in England he came to Canada. He occupied several charges in the Diocese of Niagara: Moorefield, Acton and Rockwood, Fort Erin, Port Robinson and Palermo. Rev. Mr. Piggott became rector of St. Alban's Church, Acton, in the year 1883, and was here for four or five years. During his incumbency of this parish the beautiful little gothic stone church, St. John's, at Rockwood was erected. Mr. Piggott was an active worker in the Masonic order and in 1887, the year of his removal from Acton, was Master of Walker Lodge, A.F. & A.M.
