After an illness of several months from internal cancer, William Kelly, Sr., of the 1st line, Esquesing, passed away on Monday, 14th inst. Mr. Kelly was a native of Morris township, Huron county, where his father, the late John Kelly, who came from Ireland sixty-five years ago, settled. He was born shortly after the family reached Canada. Six years ago Mr. Kelly came to Acton, and since his removal here he made many warm friendships. Mrs. Kelly and seven sons and two daughters survive. The family comprise John, at Georgetown; Frank and William, in Acton; Patrick at Port Nelson; Martin in Esquesing; and Michael, Thomas, Rachel and Catherine at home. Mr. Kelly was a man of quiet disposition, a good neighbor and a devout member of the Roman Catholic Church. The funeral was held on Wednesday morning of last week. The remains were brought to St. Joseph's Church where an impressive service was conducted by Rev. Father Traynor. Interment took place in the R. C. cemetery at Dublin. The six eldest sons carried the remains of their deceased father reverently to the last resting place.
