Sudden Death of Mr. Hannum
John G. Hannum, tuner for Mr. C. W. Kelly, Guelph, about 32 years old, was found dead shortly before 8 o'clock Wednesday night, in St. George's Church by the caretaker, who was opening the building in preparation for a service. Mr. Hannum had been sent to the church late in the afternoon to repair the organ. Just how he met his death could not be ascertained, but it is believed that the waterpower was accidentally turned on and a handle used to operate the instrument flew up and struck him on the head. Several severe bruises were found about his face and neck. Deceased was married and leaves a wife and three children. He was frequently in Acton in the performance of his duties and was very popular with Mr. Kelly's patrons here.
