Full Text
Very sudden and unexpected was the death of Donald Mann, of the third line, near Acton, last Tuesday morning. Mr. Mann was suffering from a severe cold for several days when on Wednesday of last week, pneumonia set in and he gradually grew worse until the end came. Deceased was the son of the late Alexander Mann, who came to Canada from Inverness Shire, Scotland, back in the forties and settled on the farm where his son has just died. Alexander passed away in 1902. Donald was born there, and on this homestead the family life and history of three generations of the Mann family have been enacted. Deceased was married to Jessie McDougall, daughter of Hugh McDougall, Esq., Frederick Street, Acton. Mrs. Mann died about sixteen years ago. Their four children survive, Alexander, Bessie, Hubert and Donald. Mr. Mann was a successful farmer and was held in general esteem. He was a member of Knox Church and Past Chief of the Sons of England. In politics, like his father, he was a strong Liberal. He was a cousin of Sir Donald Mann, and has looked after the latter's business here since the death of Hugh Mann. The funeral will take place this afternoon at half past two.
