Last Saturday morning shortly after eight o'clock, Mr. Peter McArthur was affected with heart failure and dropped dead within a few minutes. He had resided for some time with his sister, Mrs. James Hall, Elgin Street, and was preparing to leave by the 8.50 a.m. train for Hamilton to spend the Christmas holidays with friends there. Mr. McArthur was a quiet industrious citizen, an unmarried man, and well liked by those who knew him. The funeral was held on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
