This vicinity was greatly shocked on Tuesday morning of last week when it was learned that Elda, the only child of Mr. and Mrs. M. Crewson, jr., had died very suddenly during the night. The little girl, who was but two years old, had been around as bright as usual on Monday when about 9 o'clock in the evening she took convulsions, and although everything was done to aid her, she never rallied, and passed away about four o'clock in the morning. Not only was she the joy of the home, but won the hearts of all who knew her. Though only an infant she was a very sweet little singer and only a short time before she took sick she sang for her mother two verses of that beautiful hymn, "He promised never to leave me." Her death has saddened a happy home and to the sorrowing parents there is but one Great Comforter whom we can point them to. The funeral on Wednesday last was very largely attended, the service being conducted by Rev. Mr. Dick, of Acton, interment taking place in Everton Cemetery. The pallbearers were Misses Katie Cripps, Janie Crewson, Lela Wassborough, and Daisy Bennet. Mr. and Mrs. Crewson have the sympathy of a large circle of friends in their sad bereavement.
