ASHGROVE.
Many friends will regret to learn of the death of Mrs. M. Howson (nee Mary Pickard), which took place rather suddenly at her home here on Monday evening. She was taken ill about a week ago with an internal abscess, and an operation was decided upon in the hope of saving her life. Though she rallied somewhat, the relief was only temporary and, surrounded by her friends, she passed away. Deceased was the third daughter of the late Rev. Wm. Pickard, so well known in this section. Beside other sorrowing relatives, she leaves her husband, who has also been in poor health for some time. The family have had a most remarkable series of bereavements and sorrows the past few years, and much sympathy will be extended to them in this fresh loss. The funeral took place yesterday to the family plot in the Union Cemetery, Guelph.
