Full Text
The death of Mr. Ernest Morrison at the early age of seventeen has thrown a shadow over the entire community. His illness which lasted only a few days developed into peritonitis and an operation was thought necessary, but he only lived about twenty-four hours after it. The Rev. J. Fennell and the Rev. G. A. Mitchell conducted service at the house. The remains were taken to the Stewarttown English Church, where an excellent sermon was preached by the Rev. Mr. Fennell. The deceased was a great favorite among his companions and over forty of them headed the funeral procession to the cemetery. In addition to a beautiful floral anchor provided by the friends, the young men presented a very pretty wreath with the words "Our Comrade," filling the centre.
