Death of Mrs. Joshua Freeman.
Mr. and Mrs. James Brown, Mrs. Thomas Somerville, and Mr. W. P. Brown, Toronto, attended the deathbed and funeral of Mrs. Joshua Freeman, St. Mary's, last week. Mrs. Freeman was a daughter of the late Alexander Brown, sr., one of the most prominent pioneers of this locality, a twin sister of Mr. James Brown, and was born on the homestead here in 1836, when the present site of Acton was covered with forest trees. In her girlhood days Mrs. Freeman was a favorite here and her occasional visits since marriage have always been occasions of pleasure to her numerous friends. She was a lifelong christian and has ever exerted an influence for good in her home and surroundings. Her husband, the late Joshau Freeman, died about two years ago.
