Death of a Former Resident.
The following from the Gravenhurst Banner refers to the death of Mr. Richard Hughes, a former resident of Acton, who moved to Gravenhurst about 15 years ago. After a lingering and painful illness Mr. R. F. Hughes, of Gravenhurst, died on Sunday evening, January 29th, in Toronto General Hospital, where he was for some time under treatment. In February 1890 Mr. Hughes, had his foot crushed, and during the last few months it troubled him very much. Mr. Hughes was a resident of the town for about twelve years, the last four of which he was foreman for Mickle, Dymont & Son in their Barrie mill. He filled the position of public school trustee for several years. He was a member of the Methodist church and a member of the official board, and was a consistent christian. He leaves a wife and two small children to mourn his death.
