"Home at Last."
For several months the death of Mrs. John Cameron has been looked for, but this did not lessen in any way the feelings of sadness with which the announcement of her removal from pain and suffering was received on Sunday evening. More than a year ago it was found that an incurable tumor had appeared in her throat and ever since she has been a patient sufferer. The best medical skill available was procured, and the kind ministrations of loving friends were given but nothing could allay the progress of the advancing destroyer. With a confident and unceasing trust in her Saviour Mrs. Cameron waited the call of her Heavenly Father with no apparent dread. During her illness she was visited by many of our citizens and all felt that the patience and consideration manifested in her suffering was in every respect worthy of her christian profession and such as only christian grace could produce. Her mother Mrs. McMackon, of Highgate, has been devoted to her in her great trial and for many months has been her constant companion ever ready to minister to her comfort. Mrs. Cameron was beloved by all who knew her. Her girlhood days were spent here and four years ago she returned to Acton a bride. Her sorrowing husband has the heartfelt sympathy of all. His afflictions are multiplied. Two years ago his darling baby daughter and only child was taken from him; a few months ago his mother departed this life and now it cannot be wondered at that a deep sense of loneliness overshadows him. The funeral yesterday afternoon was very largely attended; the Royal Templars of Temperance, of which Mrs. Camerson was a charter member, attended in a body. Her pastor, Rev. J. W. Rae conducted the service and was assisted by Rev. D. Strachan, Rockwood and Rev. Dr. Gifford.
