Another Early Settler's Death.
The death of Mrs. McCann, widow of the late Matthew McCann, Esq., of Esquesing, occurred at Rockwood yesterday morning. Mrs. McCann and her husband were early settlers of this vicinity and were highly esteemed by all who knew them. They were devout Roman Catholics and gave the land for the Church and Cemetery, a mile south of Acton on the first line. After the death of her husband Mrs. McCann removed to Guelph, and subsequently to Rockwood. She enjoyed good health until a couple of weeks ago, and died at the ripe old age of 81. The remains will reach Acton to-morrow morning by the 9.16 train. The funeral service will be held in St. Joseph's church, after which interment will be made in the R. C. Cemetery.
